The idea was developing and as a team we had to work out how to make it all work. None of us had done anything like this before. We knew that we wanted to use the t-shirts as walking adverts and that we wanted to use social media to share information and raise awareness, but turning that into a reality was going to be a challenge.
Facebook was not new, but Twitter was a real unknown. At the end of March, Maree went to a talk given by Steve Wheeler who is an Associate Professor of learning technologies at the University of Plymouth. He talked about the power of social media and was an expert! Maree felt that this was fate and set off tracking him down. They had a phone conversation on 21st May and our social media strategy was born.
